Call for Entry 2021: Southeast Asian Producers Network

The Southeast Asian Producers Network invites producers from the region to share their wealth of knowledge and ideas with one another. The network is a platform for further dialogue and opportunities for collaboration.
In an intimate closed-door setting, selected and invited Southeast Asian producers with projects in development will share the process of developing their works – the unknowns, shortfalls, and possibilities of stretching the potential of their company’s work.

Applicant must be a producer of at least 2 short films that have travelled internationally and/or is currently producing a feature film which has the intention and potential for international co-production.
Applicant must be of Southeast Asian nationality, origin or residence.
Applicant must provide either the link to 2 short films, which have travelled internationally, and/or their project dossiers about the current feature film they are producing.
The SGIFF Southeast Asian Producers Network only accepts a secure online link of the portfolio work being submitted
Films in any other language other than English must have English subtitles
The project dossier should include:
Applicant’s biography, photo and statement
List of films produced and the film festivals or channels the films were shown
Screening links for at least 2 films
List of projects in development and their synopsis
Any other supporting documentation
Please submit all application materials in one PDF document and title the file ‘2021_Producers Network_APPLICANT’S NAME’.
All entries must contain: a completed submission form, portfolio screener and/or project dossier. Submissions should reach us no later than Friday, 10
September 2021, 6.00pm (GMT+8).
Incomplete submissions will not be accepted.
Any submission received after the deadline will not be accepted.
The SGIFF Southeast Asian Producers Network will notify successful applicants of the selection results by end-October 2021.
The SGIFF Southeast Asian Producers Network does not produce individual explanation of the non-selection of an applicant.
Once an applicant is selected, the applicant will not be able to withdraw from
SGIFF Southeast Asian Producers Network.
Workshops will be conducted in English; knowledge of English is essential in
order to participate.

Programme Specialist, Southeast Asian Producers Network
Born in southern Spain and based in Singapore since 2003, Fran Borgia has produced several critically acclaimed films such as Ho Tzu Nyenʼs Here (Cannes Directorʼs Fortnight 2009), Boo Junfengʼs Sandcastle (Cannes Criticsʼ Week 2010), Lav Diazʼs A Lullaby To The Sorrowful Mystery (Berlinale 2016 – Silver Bear Winner), Boo Junfengʼs Apprentice (Cannes Un Certain Regard 2016), K. Rajagopalʼs A Yellow Bird (Cannes Criticsʼ Week 2016), Yeo Siew Huaʼs A Land Imagined (Locarno 2018 – Golden Leopard Winner) and Kamila Andiniʼs Yuni (Toronto Platform Competition 2021). He has also worked as Line Producer for Warner Brosʼ Crazy Rich Asians (2018) and HBOʼs Westworld Season 3 (2020).
