Amid a rise in far-right extremism and racially motivated attacks, Seyo Kim, a young German-Korean state prosecutor, impartially executes the law. But when a masked individual attempts to set her on fire, her engagement with the law becomes personal.
Seyo Kim, a promising state prosecutor, is determined to be an impartial representative of the state and sets aside her misgivings about the dismissal of charges for racist attacks. But when an encounter with far-right individuals in court results in an attack on her life, Seyo goes against orders and takes the investigation into her hands. Uncovering an extensive network of fascist extremists, she begins to question who the so-called neutrality of institutions really serves.
Prosecution confronts the rise in far-right extremism and the systemic failure of institutions in Germany to protect their most vulnerable citizens. As Seyo combines vigilantism with legal recourse, the film makes a case for extreme solutions to extremist violence.

Faraz Shariat is a German-Iranian filmmaker. In 2015, he cofounded Jünglinge Film collective, a production company centring feminist, antiracist and queer stories. His first feature, No Hard Feelings (2020), won the Berlinale Teddy Award for Best Queer Feature. Prosecution premiered at the Berlinale and clinched the Panorama Audience Award.
