Through five generations of personal stories, this documentary reveals how memories of resistance survive beyond political upheavals. A poetic portrait of Iran’s ongoing struggle, it explores storytelling and everyday acts of defiance as quiet forms of revolution.
Through five intimate portraits, Pegah Ahangarani revisits 50 years of Iran’s history, revealing how political upheavals reverberate across generations. Beginning with her father’s journey from revolutionary idealism to disillusionment, the film follows her uncle’s hopes for reform, her teacher’s encounter with repression, Ahangarani’s political awakening during the 2009 Green Movement, and the new possibilities embodied by her young daughter.
The film blends family archives, photographs, recordings and historical footage into a poetic documentary essay. Through recollection and reassembling fragments of the past, Ahangarani explores storytelling, remembrance and artistic expression as quieter forms of revolution.
