Cinemas are more than places of entertainment, they are living heritage spaces where communities gather, stories unfold, and cultural memories are made. Yet today, Singapore’s cinema landscape faces unprecedented challenges. The recent struggles and closures of household name cinemas have cast a harsh spotlight on the mounting pressures threatening our cinema culture.

From soaring rents and spatial efficiency demands to shifting audience preferences, our cinemas are fighting for survival. This isn’t just business talk! It’s about preserving spaces that matter to audiences, practitioners, producers, and every industry professional whose livelihood depends on a thriving cinema ecosystem.

Join us for a frank discussion on revitalising our cinemas and their future as essential cultural spaces where Singaporeans come together to share stories, experiences, and community.
