Three grade schoolers in Japan become fed up with adults causing global warming and team up to teach them a lesson.
Ten-year-old Yuishi develops a crush on his classmate Kokoa after she gives a speech on the injustice of children shouldering the burden of a climate crisis induced by adults. This starts an idiosyncratic friendship consisting of discussing methane, vegetarianism and IPCC reports. Haruto, the class troublemaker, joins them to plot gleeful acts of protest unmasking their town’s environmentally unconscious lifestyle choices. However, as the three eco-warriors are slowly made aware of the consequences of their actions, they have to face their personal motivations.
How Dare You? tackles, with an unassuming wit and heartfelt tact, the question we have to confront in this age of climate crisis: are we all doing enough?
