A father’s quest through Georgia’s crumbling football fields turns into a haunting meditation on the fading of memory and spaces.

Lisa, a sports photographer, vanishes during her final assignment documenting Georgian football fields, leaving only a cryptic note confirming her choice to disappear. Bewildered but undeterred, Irakli retraces his daughter’s steps through Caucasian valleys, inadvertently indexing a visual study of Georgia’s desolate football pitches – a far cry from their national football team’s glory days in the 1970s and 1980s.

Shot on an obsolete Sony Ericsson phone camera, Dry Leaf embraces digital decay, using pixellated fragments and dramatic colour deviations to create an alternate reality. The seemingly never-ending search drifts into a dreamlike realm, where melancholic yearning merges with the travelling wind.
