After relocating to the Welsh countryside, a couple is visited by a child who attempts to become part of their family.
Experimental musicians and married couple Daphne and Darcy have moved from London to an isolated cottage in Wales to work on their new album. While out in the woods one day making field recordings, Darcy accidentally disturbs a mushroom-circled “fairy ring.” Soon after, the couple’s life takes an unsettling turn when a child appears on their doorstep – never named, he offers them dead rabbits as gifts, shares cryptic folktales and ultimately outstays his welcome.
Set in the Welsh countryside in the 1970s, Rabbit Trap is a beautiful and terrifying exploration of fear and vulnerability. It is a heartbreaking portrait of a family’s division as much as it is a haunting sketch of the unknown coming into view.
