Introduced in 1991, Silver Screen Awards is the first international competition with a category dedicated to Asian cinema.

The event spotlights filmmaking talents from across Asia, with a focus on Southeast Asia. Many of the awardees and nominees have since established themselves among the region’s most prominent filmmakers.
