Pirati, from the ancient third-gender Kinnar community in Nepal, is torn between searching for her missing daughter and the city life she longs for with her lover.

In a remote Nepalese village nestled deep in the forest, Pirati leads a house of Kinnar women, an ancient third-gender community. The Kinnar are both revered and feared for they are believed to have the power to bless or curse. As wild elephants roam the darkness, villagers conduct nightly patrols to protect their crops and homes.

Against the Kinnar’s sacred vows of celibacy, Pirati dreams of escaping with her lover, the Drum Master. But when one of her daughters goes missing, Pirati is forced to investigate the disappearance. This haunting and atmospheric film portrays the marginalised Kinnar community with rare authenticity: human, relentless, powerful, and alive with fury at an apathetic world.
