In this intimate study of grief, a mother, daughter and teenage boy are drawn into the orbit of an absent loved one. They take a trip to a seaside resort, where reality shimmers under the glistening sun and time folds into itself.
On the eve of a family holiday, teenager Jessie climbs onto a roof and ventures too close to the edge. A year later, her mother, sister and boyfriend try to live with a semblance of normalcy while still reeling from their devastating loss. Each struggles privately with blame and incomprehension, yet they remain bound together by the gaping hole in their hearts. The unlikely trio embark on the trip that never happened, arriving at a resort where memories of the past collide with the unbearable present.
Featuring adroit cinematography and layered performances, Everytime examines the effects of grief on perception: its strange power to bend time and suspend logic, if only briefly.

Sandra Wollner
Sandra Wollner is a Berlin-based writer and director from Austria. Her first feature, The Impossible Picture (2016), received the German Film Critics Association Award and the Ingmar Bergman International Debut Award. Her second feature, The Trouble With Being Born (2020), received the Special Jury Prize at the Berlinale. Everytime premiered at Cannes and won the Un Certain Regard prize.
