Newly launched this year, SGIFF Industry Days is the festival’s knowledge-building platform and conference event, tailored for and by film professionals from Singapore, Southeast Asia and beyond.
Over three days of panels and networking sessions, Industry Days gathers internationally renowned creative leaders and key decision-makers to share their expertise and insights. The programme is rigorous and wide-ranging in its approach, tackling pressing industry topics such as locating a global audience for Asian-based content, choreographing intimate scenes and adopting sustainable green practices, while also offering rare opportunities to engage with visionary creators like Ossama Mohammed and Santosh Sivan.
With 15 sessions across four programme strands—Visionary Encounters, Insiders, Big Ideas x Reality Checks, and Networking—Industry Days is designed to offer a comprehensive and dynamic experience for all attendees.

Visionary Encounters: Ossama Mohammed
In an intimate dialogue session, director and screenwriter Ossama Mohammed will discuss the evolution of his artistic practice and experiences making films independently under violent conditions in Syria. This talk offers a rare glimpse into the work of a filmmaker who has been exiled in Paris since 2011. We will be screening his short film, Step by Step (1978), prior to the conversation.

In a rolling area of Syria, the future aspirations of the villagers’ children are thwarted, trapped between farming, menial labour, or becoming soldiers.
Ossama Mohammed
(Speaker)
Ossama Mohammed is a Syrian director and screenwriter. His works include Step by Step (1978), a documentary short chosen for the Berlinale official selection in 2013, 35 years after its release, and feature films Stars in Broad Daylight (1988), Sunduq al-Dunya (2002) and Silvered Water, Syria Self-Portrait (2014) which were selected for the Cannes Film Festival. His latest documentary film was made following his exile to Paris in 2011. All his feature films are banned in Syria. He received the Prince Claus Award in 2015 for his cinematic and humanitarian work.
Thong Kay Wee

Thong Kay Wee is the Programme Director at SGIFF and a cultural worker and moving image curator based in Singapore. He has served on film festival juries in Jeonju, Taiwan and Yogyakarta, among others. He was previously the Programmes and Outreach Officer at the Asian Film Archive (AFA) from 2014 to 2021. During his tenure, he was responsible for establishing the AFA’s regular programmes and presiding over specialised showcases, including commissions by the National Arts Council of Singapore and the Singapore International Festival of the Arts.

Marissa Anita is an Indonesian actress, known for her work in Ali and the Queens (2021) for which she won Best Supporting Actress at Festival Film Indonesia, Impetigore (2019), Gundala (2019), and Solo Solitude (2016). With a passion for storytelling, Marissa has carved out a niche for herself in the entertainment industry by choosing complex female characters that challenge societal norms and explore the intricacies of human emotions.
Noorlinah Mohamed

Noorlinah Mohamed is a Singaporean actress, educator, and creative producer. Her career began on stage in 1988, with notable performances including Temple (2009), winning the Straits Times Life! Theatre Award for Best Actress, and Recalling Mother (2022) which she co-wrote and co-directed. She has also curated festivals like N.O.W.: Festival of Women and received the Great Women of Our Time Award (2005) for her contributions to arts and culture.
Sofia Jane

Sofia Jane is a Malaysian actress, who made her start in Perempuan (1992) and has since been involved with several Malaysian TV dramas and film productions. She won best actress at the Boh Cameronian Awards for Laut Lebih Indah Dari Bulan (2014). Recently, she has been in One Cent Thief (2022), Mencari Ramlee (2025), and Maryam Pagi ke Malam (2023) for which she recently won Best Actress at the Asian Film Festival in Rome.
Nicole Midori Woodford

Nicole Midori Woodford is a Singaporean film director and writer. Her debut feature, Last Shadow at First Light (2023), premiered at the San Sebastián International Film Festival, was nominated at the Asian Film Awards and Asia Pacific Screen Awards, and won four awards at the Ho Chi Minh City International Film Festival. She is an alumna of Berlinale Talents, Asian Film Academy, Torino Film Lab, and Talents Tokyo.

Mariana Gaivão began her career as a film editor on films screened at the Cannes, Venice, and Locarno Film Festivals. Her short films, Solo (2020) and Ruby (2019), have been selected for festivals including Rotterdam, Palm Springs, ZINEBI, broadcasted on ARTE and featured at the Institute of Contemporary Arts. She was previously a film programmer for Queer Lisboa and Doclisboa and coordinator of the Advanced Post-Production Course at the School of Arts – Catholic University of Porto. She is currently developing her feature film.
Yov Moor

Yov Moor is a senior freelance colourist based in France, who has contributed to award-winning feature films, documentaries, art films and shorts. His primary motivation is to use the colour grading process to support and enhance the vision of the director, cinematographer, and producer – contributing to its visual language. Moor had four films at Cannes this year: Grand Tour (2024), L’Amour Ouf (2024), Locust (2024), and Mongrel (2024).
Lim Ting Li

Lim Ting Li is a supervising sound editor and re-recording mixer who holds an MA in Sound Design (National Film & Television School, UK). She ran the first Dolby Atmos mixing studio in Singapore and her works have competed in major film festivals and streamed on HBO and Netflix. In 2014, she won the Verna Fields Award in Sound Editing at the Motion Picture Sound Editors Golden Reel Awards, and received the Young Artist Award by the National Arts Council (Singapore) in 2018. She is a founding member of the Singapore Association of Motion Picture Professionals.

Jose Javier Reyes

Jose Javier Reyes is the Chairman and CEO of the Film Development Council of the Philippines. He is currently part of the Education Committee of the Metro Manila Film Festival. Reyes’ previous roles include Chairman of the Competition and Monitoring Committee of the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival and Creative Consultant for Regal Entertainment. In 2020, he received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Writers Union of the Philippines.
Su Shu Kuan

Su Shu Kuan is the Deputy Director of the International Business Department at Taiwan Creative Contents Agency, promoting Taiwanese contents and talents to international markets. She has a Ph.D. in Cultural Study and Sociology at the Institute of Social Research and Cultural Studies at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. She has extensive industry experience in the organisation of film events, talent workshops and festivals.

Santosh Sivan

Santosh Sivan is an Indian cinematographer, film director, producer, and actor. He is a founding member of the Indian Society of Cinematographers and recently became the first cinematographer from the Asia-Pacific region to gain membership in the American Society of Cinematographers. In 2024, he became the first Asian recipient of the prestigious Pierre Angénieux Tribute Award at the Cannes Film Festival. With a career spanning three decades, Santosh has established himself as the most awarded Director of Photography in India.
Lincoln Yeo

Lincoln Yeo is a Singaporean cinematographer of award-winning narratives, documentaries, and commercials. His films have been screened at numerous international film festivals, in particular his latest feature project, Dreaming & Dying (dir. Nelson Yeo), which won the Pardo d’oro for Best Feature Film and the Swatch First Feature Award at Locarno Film Festival 2023. He is an alumni of Berlinale Talents (2024) and the Asian Film Academy (2019), where he won the ARRI Scholarship Award.

Lai Junjie is a Singaporean producer, currently the Manager of Content and Production at Infinite Studios. He joined mm2 Entertainment in 2012 and later served as development executive with HBO Asia from 2019 to 2024, working on a slate of original productions. Junjie has also marketed and distributed over 30 regional feature films in Singapore, including Satan’s Slaves (2017), Eerie (2018) and A Land Imagined (2018).

Yosep Anggi Noen is an Indonesian producer, screenwriter and filmmaker. His short film A Laddy Caddy Who Never Saw A Hole in One (2013) was awarded at the Busan and Tokyo’s Short Shorts Film Festivals. His films Peculiar Vacation and Other Illnesses (2012), Solo, Solitude (2016) and The Science of Fictions (2019) premiered at Locarno, the latter selected as a Special Mention in the International Competition section. His latest films include 24 Hours with Gaspar (2023), which premiered in Busan and Redemption of Sin (2024).

He directed the features Eclipses (2011), Snakeskin (2014), which won the Award of Excellence at Yamagata IDFF, and Demons (2018), which premiered in competition at Busan. Hui is a founding member of the 13 Little Pictures film collective.
Truong Minh Quý

Truong Minh Quý is a filmmaker from Vietnam. His films have been selected for international film festivals including Cannes, Locarno, Berlinale, and others. He is an alumnus of the Asian Film Academy and Berlinale Talents. Truong’s latest film Viet and Nam (2024) premiered Un Certain Regard and was nominated for the Queer Palm at the Cannes Film Festival.
Cintia Gil

Cíntia Gil is a film programmer who formerly served as director of Doclisboa and Sheffield DocFest. Cintia co-created the cinema club Artistic Differences at UnionDocs, and has joined the programming team of the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight. She is a member of the Board of Apordoc – Portuguese Documentary Association and has served on juries in festivals such as Berlinale, Cairo, and Mar del Plata, among others.

Patrick Sibourd is the founder of distribution company Nour Films, whose distributions have included Charlie’s Country (2013), Fantasia (2014), screened Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival, and The Here After (2015), selected for the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight. Nour Films latest distributions include Berlinale winning Seven Winters in Tehran (2023), A Family (2023), and Butterfly Vision (2022), an Un Certain Regard official section.
Charlyn Ng

Charlyn Ng has produced commercials, feature films and scripted series across Asia. Charlyn executive produced and produced My Mini-me and Me (2021) and Forbidden (2021) for HBO Max, selected for Busan’s On screen section, and produced season 2 of HBO’s The Teenage Psychic (2017). She also produced Operation Undead (2024) and Be Your Knight (2024), and is developing Hellcast to be released in 2025.

He began his career as a film composer and has since worked as a producer for commercials, as well as the series Finding the Rainbow (2022) and School Tales the Series (2022), the latter for Netflix. His latest project is Uranus2324 (2024), where he serves as executive producer and producer.

Thomas Chanon Wangtrirat is the co-founder and Head of Post Production at VelCurve Studio. His expertise in lighting technology and colour science brings a unique blend of technical precision and artistic sensibility to his colour grading work. Thomas has worked on a diverse portfolio, including commercials, various GMMTV series, Viu’s Finding the Rainbow (2022), and VelCurve Studio’s Uranus2324 (2024).

Jeremy Chua is the General Manager of SGIFF since January 2024. Since 2014, he founded Singapore-based independent film label Potocol to produce the works of distinctive Asian auteurs. His recent producer credits include 2024 Berlinale Encounters Jury Prize winner Some Rain Must Fall, 2023 Cannes Camera d’Or winner Inside the Yellow Cocoon Shell, 2023 Berlinale Generations Competition film Tomorrow is a long time, 2023 San Sebastian New Directors Competition film Last Shadow at First Light and 2022 Venice Orizzonti FIPRESCI winner Autobiography.

Anderson Le is the Artistic Director of the Hawai’i International Film Festival and programmer for the Far East Festival and the Ho Chi Minh City International Film Festival. Le has consulted for the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, Singapore International Film Festival and Reel Asian. In 2020, he co-founded EAST, a transpacific production company. Their project MAIKA (2022) was an official selection of Sundance.
Cintia Gil

Cíntia Gil is a film programmer who formerly served as director of Doclisboa and Sheffield DocFest. Cintia co-created the cinema club Artistic Differences at UnionDocs, and has joined the programming team of the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight. She is a member of the Board of Apordoc – Portuguese Documentary Association and has served on juries in festivals such as Berlinale, Cairo, and Mar del Plata, among others.
Ellen Y.D. Kim

Ellen Y.D. Kim is the director of Asian Contents & Film Market, formerly Programmer and Programme Director for the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival. She founded Flying Tiger Pictures, producing films such as Cry Woman (2002) which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival’s Un Certain Regard. At Bom Film Production, Ellen co-produced Night and Day (2008) and Come Rain, Come Shine (2011).
Park Kwang-su

Park Kwang-su is the deputy director and co-founder of the Busan International Film Festival. Park initiated the Asian Project Market in 1998 and the Asian Contents & Film Market in 2006, and served as the founding director of the Busan Film Commission. Park led the Korean New Wave in cinema through films such as Chil-Su and Man-Su (1988), Black Republic (1990), and A Single Spark (1995).
Sabrina Baracetti

Sabrina Baracetti is a founding member and President of Udine Far East Film Festival, President of cultural organisation C.E.C., an arthouse exhibition company, Acquisitions Consultant for the distribution company Tucker Film, Co-Founder and Consultant for Ties That Bind and member of the Board of Directors at Friuli Cinematheque. She has been a member of several Festival juries, and a nomination advisor for the Asian Film Awards.
Sung Moon (Table Host)
Sung Moon is a programmer for the Jeonju International Film Festival, and has been involved in festivals and industry forums including Busan, Jeonju Project Market and Docs Port Incheon. She is a representative for Latin America at the Korean Film Council and established the Buenos Aires Korean Film Festival. She has also edited books such as What Will Be Of Cinema? (2021) and Tsai Ming-Liang – Walker Series (2004).
