32nd SGIFF: Call for Volunteers
Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF) is now recruiting volunteers for its 32nd edition. We are seeking volunteers who share our love for independent films and passion in fostering a vibrant film community.
As a non-profit organization, SGIFF relies on the generosity and dedication of our volunteers. If you enjoy meeting new people, have a warm and reliable nature, can work well independently and in a team, then we welcome you to join us. Fluency in a foreign language will also be considered favourably.
Volunteer positions available:
- Front of House Volunteers
- Event Photographers
- Event Videographers
- Hospitality Volunteers
Transport allowances will be provided while on duty (transport reimbursement applies to after hours only from 11.30pm to 6.30am).
As a volunteer at SGIFF, you will have the opportunity to learn what happens behind the scenes of a film festival, meet industry professionals and be among the first audiences in Singapore to watch some of the best new independent films.
Front of House Officers
Front of House (FOH)
Front of House Officers are the first point of contact for festival-goers. They are responsible for customer service at the information desk, ticketing management, ushering and providing stagehand support, crowd management, and to assist the SGIFF FOH team where required. In line with safe distancing measures, volunteers should also ensure that patrons are adhering to the guidelines as set-out by MOH.
Event Photographers & Videographers
Event Photographers & Videographers capture remarkable moments of the Festival. Exclusive access will be given to the relevant SGIFF events that require photography and videography, e.g. masterclasses, and more. The Festival will credit the photographers and videographers (or their company) on the Festival website, as well as on the future use of their photographs. Volunteers should be willing to commit to at least 3 shifts.
Hospitality volunteers should be willing to commit to the festival duration.
Hospitality Volunteers are the first and key point of contact between the international guests and SGIFF. Hospitality Volunteers are responsible for receiving, welcoming and sending off guests. They work closely with the Hospitality Manager to look after the well-being of guests and more importantly, be a host to the guests during their stay in Singapore. Volunteers should be willing to commit to at least 4 shifts, each shift will last 6 hours.
An e-briefing of the Festival programme, screenings, and volunteers’ responsibilities will be arranged and attendance is compulsory. Further details and dates will be advised closer to the Festival period. If you are interested in being a part of this year’s Festival, do complete the online application form from now till 24 October 2021. Thank you for your support and we look forward to having you onboard!
