A meet-cute between a dancer and a sign- language interpreter blossoms into a tender bond that challenges conventional expectations of relationships.
Elena, a contemporary dancer, and Dovydas, a sign-language interpreter, find themselves irresistibly drawn to each other when they meet at a class led by Elena for deaf youth. A slow-burn romance ensues, but Elena’s idealised view of their relationship is challenged when Dovydas confides in her about his asexuality.
As a dancer deeply connected to her body, Elena must navigate a relationship where emotional intimacy takes precedence over sexual pleasure. In this intimate portrayal of a burgeoning romance, Kavtaradze’s meticulous focus on the minutiae of their relationship masterfully conveys the nonconformity of queer love and its delicate intricacies.
